...enjoying my 3rd playthrough (on easy) way more than the first two back when. Concentrating on the story flow and character building/interactions.

    • You should experience Grounded mode if you haven't already. It makes it a real fight for survival, which imo, makes the game that much better. Either way, awesome game whatever difficulty you're on.

    • I still have to play on grounded. I like hard difficulties, but not in every game. Especially fighting through scripted events, makes me cringe. It becomes an exercise in 'perfect execution' - on a mechanical basis. That is not my kind of fun.

Companion AI (Ellie, Tessa...), running into Clickers & other enemies, back and forth, while I try to sneak & stay behind cover ... major gamey-game flaw, taking me out of the illusion.

    • Seems to be one of the only things that was criticized about this game. I like that friendly AI can't attract enemies to you and whatnot, but yeah, there are moments when they get loud and right up next to enemies that of course don't react to them. A fair nitpick but I think it was the best way for them to go about the friendly AI. Making it so they can't attract attention, that is.

    • I agree. It also remains an unsolved gamedev problem (since the Daikatana days!) - same thing bugged me with Bioshock Infinite. It is hard to predict player behavior (& adjust to it).

About to finish the Hunter journey, one journey left then I got to do two more playthroughs to do and maybe I'll have the platinum.

  • The Last of Us

Played some campaign in the early hours this morning. Anyone who's played will know, Clicker filled basement + keycard locked door + starting generator = abject TERROR. Multiplayer this weekend.

    • To be fair the only way I got really good was after I unlocked the bow and arrow, get it upgraded ASAP in the match, as others have said molotovs are really useful too. Also trying to lone wolf it will only get you so far, stock with your team and you'll find yourself better off.

    • I was pretty bad at this at first. But I got more used to the pacing and everything because it was a bit different than anything I've played. Just make your shots count, stay near teammates, and don't run around like an idiot and you'll do fine.

    • Ugh collectibles I gotta do that too, but I wanna wait a little while the story is so fresh in my mind I wanna play through it again on easy mode and get all shiv doors and all collectibles in a single run.

[+] I picked this up yesterday for a bit of Halloween horror action, but WOW, this game is so much more. The presentation is beautiful (as I was expecting), but what I wasn't prepared for was how incredibly hefty and visceral the combat feels. Shocking, abrupt, brutal, but never made light of and always presented as a necessary act for survival. With that said, the multiplayer is undeniably fun, and I like the strong emphasis on co-operative play and strategising. Do I carry on rolling solo or are there crews to join like in GTAV?

Seeing how beautiful the world becomes after it's end, i can only conclude the real bad thing about the end of the world is not having coffee anymore.

Living a life without drinking coffee... =O

    • @Jay_Cash it fascinates me too. I mean, in "I am Alive" from Ubisoft, we didn't see green everywhere like we do on Last of Us, but those buildings fallen apart still fascinate me for some reason.

@necroman12 Really? Let's forget about all the green, lakes in the middle of avenues, monkeys and giraffes?

    • Yeah, ruins and stuff like in Fallout are cool too. I just like the heavy atmosphere or something. Though people like to complain about games being too "brown and grey", even if the entire world is destroyed. Pffft. Yeah, vegetation and some wilderness like in The Last of Us is great, but I also like really dark and depressing atmospheres like other post-apocalyptic games I've played.
