Platinum #11-Max Payne 3
This is my proudest and rarest platinum trolhy to date and 75% of its challenge comes from the multiplayer grind, which took me 4 full weeks of one hour per day of playing on weekdays and 2-3 hours on weekends. If you did the multiplayer on launch days, then you are very lucky. Now to the review.
This is the most fun ive had in a third person shooter. Bullet time and shoot dodge never get fun in this game and the gunplay is top notch. Graphocs are awesome for last gen(2012) and brazil is a very interesting place for a max payne game. I did play max payje 1 after this and id say i like this one much, much more. The levels are not too short, not too long, but the replay value here is immense. This is my most repeated campaign at 7 or 8 playthroughs and i can still play it again if I want to. The story is interesting but somewhat predictable and max payne is probably my favourite video game character of all time, just because of this game. The multiplayer component is not that fun however but the game didnt need one in the first place, so its still a nice addition to an awesome package. Trophy wise, youre looking at a very time consuming platinum trophy. Single player difficuoty is represented by new york minute hardcore, the infamous difficulty in which you are timed to beat the game and if you die once, you got to restart from chapter 1. If you can overcome the glitches and have played the game at least 3 times, then this shouldnt be too much trouble to you. Personally, I got it on my 3rd serious try. One of those tries, a glitch made me fail at chapter 14. The multiplayer challenge, which to me is the main factor to this platinum, comes from the rank 50 trophy, which takes 620 platinum medals in arcade mode to do, if you dont want to play the multiplayer portion, which if you do, will take at least twice more time. Easiest chapter to get platinum medals is chapter 4 part 1 in score attack. You have to do this mission 620 times but it takes 3 minutes per run. Still, it is very time consuming.
Overall, max payne 3 is one of my favorite games ever, and i give it a 9.5/10. It would have gotten a perfect score but there are alot of glitches which will probably never be patched out, some of them being extremely frustrating. I also give this game an 8.5/10 platinum difficulty rating.
