    • Personally, I prefer to buy the game, play a little bit of it, obsess over buying the sequels, play a little more, get bored and watch TV. Get bored with THAT and go back to playing the game. The new hotness comes out and I start playing it, and forget about the game for a few months, then FINALLY go back to it, forget what I was doing, and start the game from scratch. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Died here and there, but the item drops were rather generous. Second run with Lucas on Normal is proving to be a nightmare. Item drops are awful, and since the buffs wear off so quickly, he dies f*cking constantly. He is the worst tank of all time since he gets decimated in mere seconds by f*cking everything. Luckily my infinitely better equipped and more powerful AI companion Anjali is there to revive me every two minutes... unless it is a boss fight - then she dies on the regular.

Speaking of boss fights, what the f*ck was with the Dapper Old Gent? That battle was ridiculously uneven. I had to continue a good 9 times from that fight, mainly because Anjali would keep getting herself cornered. Everything in that battle kills bitch-baby Lucas in a blink of an eye, so I'm sure that doesn't help.

    • @Sofia_1138 It picks up as it progresses, but it never really gets past mediocre. It gets f*cking unforgiving with the difficulty curve, though. Even Casual can be a pain. The environments and dungeons are uninspired and linear, and there really isn't much to the upgrade system. Stats auto-upgrade so you're left putting points into a small handful of skills and abilities. The AI partner system is cool, but in the end it is just an extremely watered down dungeon crawler.

@deathofcards The difficulty is unnecessary, especially for such a combat friendly, cookie cutter hack 'n' slash. It starts out hard and then later difficulty is not entirely controlled, but heavily influenced, by item drops and chance. Sometimes it'll give you epic rare items that you never need to change right at the beginning, other times you'll be stuck with s*it equipment that is barely better than your starting equipment for the whole game. Oh, and sometimes it won't drop a single damn item for your AI partner for hours while instead dropping a ton of equipment for a character you haven't even met yet. Also, more than once have I gone through multiple quests only receiving a few drops for my player character while it constantly drops godlike equipment for an AI partner that I don't even use. The entire system is too god damn sporadic to make for anything close to an even playing experience. I never played it online, but I imagine randomization like that can incite some pretty heated verbal battles.

I'm just a sucker for dungeon crawlers, though. I absolutely love them and will happily play them over most games, even if they suck. If you guys want to check out an awesome dungeon crawler on consoles that is tons of fun and much larger by scale, try out Sacred 2. it received poor reviews due to bugs, but I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it.
