Set 10 years after the events of the first Bioshock, the halls of Rapture once again echo with sins of the past. Along the Atlantic coastline, a monster has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city of Rapture. You are the very first Big Daddy as you travel through the decrepit and beautiful fallen city, chasing an unseen foe in search of answers and your own survival.

The game is a first-person-shooter, it has a few changes, like you can now use both one of the 11 plasmids and one of the several different weapons at the same time, allowing him to burn enemies while pumping them full of bullets. Other plasmids include “Winter Blast” which freezes an enemy or “Scout” which allows the player to leave his body and look around unnoticed. The weapons on the hand range from the famous Big-Daddy-Drill over a powerful double-barrel-shotgun to a grenade launcher.

[+] I beat it, and started the Minerva DLC. I think I'm done. The level design, the enemies... I'm just so god damned bored at this point. I don't like forcing myself to play games, and I'm so annoyed that I almost want to sell all of my lengthy, dense open world games because of this one game.(Fallout, etc) I don't have the time to grind, and I certainly hate repetition. Looting is cool at first, but it always ends in me feeling like I've wasted my time. This isn't what gaming is supposed to be about.

    • I normally wouldn't have issues with it, but in bioshock it was needed. I loved Resistance 2 even though it had no weapon wheel, but back in 09 i was fairly new to the FPS genre.

[+] I like this game, but one thing that really disappoints me is the way that you rescue/harvest little sisters. Because I like to explore, sometimes I'll rescue a little sister just for another one to pop up with a Big Daddy moments after. I know I don't have to go after it, but it really screws up the pacing of the game to stop progress and take down a bunch of these things one after another. The second game makes matters worse with the terrible "stand here and defend" missions that accompany every one of these sisters.

    • Those were the worst. IMO, Bioshock 2 is a forgettable game. The other two games are where it's at

    • Yeah, Bioshock 2 is probably the weakest of the trilogy, but it's still a pretty solid game. I still enjoyed it.

[+] Bought this a few months ago at a pawn shop for $5 and I finally pulled it off my backlog and started it and so far I'm liking it a lot, I pretty much knew I would since I greatly enjoyed Bioshock Infinite.

But that being said, it feels really weird playing as the slower big daddy and with a *expletive deleted* drill as part of my arsenal since the only Bioshock Game I've played is Infinite(I borrowed it from a friend)

I don't dislike it and it didn't bother me after the first few minutes of playing but it was a thing.

Also I will be saving each Little Sister as I just don't have the heart to harvest any of them TT^TT

There is a collectors edition I found somewhere that's under $60. It's not brand new, but all the contents are still wrapped brand new. Box is only thing not wrapped. Should I go for it?

    • Whenever I got the first Bioshock, it was in the "Ultimate Rapture Edition" that came with 1, 2 and all their respective DLC. I skipped 2 also. You folks are convincing me to pick it up 2 and play it as well.

    • I am currently playing Bio 2. It is fantastic. I recommend hardest difficulty with vita chambers off. I hate vita chambers because when you fight a big daddy for example. If he kicks your butt you'll respawn out of the vita chamber and encounter the big daddy again with his health depleted from your last encounter, thus making the planning, strategy and difficulty meaningless.

    • It's been a long time for me too but I believe she kills Delta because he's created from her memories rather than being a real person and now that you're done she needs those memories back. Could be wrong thoSelect text to reveal spoiler

    • No, otherwise he deosn't died, he... well, just... hard to tell this Adama thing. Anyway Delta and everything he was stored in Adam and Eleanor could ...feel him, talk to him anytime. And Delta once was dead already.

Also vita-chambers in Rapture, below the sea where they just espaced, barely.Select text to reveal spoiler

It's kinda hard to decide if I like this or the first game more. The levels and characters are better in the first game, but the gameplay is easily better in the second game. Either way, both fantastic games.

    • yeah, love Raptures' atmosphere too, I preferred both these games to Infinite. Although the Burial At Sea Episode 2 DLC for it made me feel right back there.

    • I actually kinda liked Episode 1 more than 2. Mainly cause you had to go back to Columbia, though that kinda reiterated how much better Rapture is.Select text to reveal spoiler

The music that plays during the end of Pauper's Drop is so annoying. Totally ruins the atmosphere too.

    • It was just a glitch, so I can forgive it. The music fit while fighting a Big Sister, but when it keeps playing (loudly) after beating her, it doesn't fit at all.
