  • Another game I've made! Instead of school, this was actually for the last weekends Indies vs Pewdiepie game jam.

Requires Unity Web Player plugin to play.

  • We just started game development courses at school and this is what I've already managed to make using Unity.

Nothing big and impressive, but check it out if you're really bored. It's free and you can play it straight from the browser so it's easy to access as well, you only need the Unity Web Player plugin.

  • METAL GEAR SOLID 4

I have a lot of problems with this game but one thing that really gets me is the ending. And no, I actually accept that "true ending", the thing I have issue with is LiquidSelect text to reveal spoiler

    .

At the same time it's the most epic but also the most pointless final battle I've ever seen. For fans of the series the battle reeks of nostalgia but on the other hand... the whole situation is already over. There's absolutely no reason for the fight or reward for doing it (storywise) and that kinda kills it for me. I know Liquid and Snake were some sort of "rivals" but there was nothing really to fight about. At least anymore. It's not like between Red and Blue in Pok√©mon, they had actually great chemistry for being rivals and it even ended in a very epic way. The rivalry between Liquid and Snake already ended in the original Metal Gear Solid and then they just became... brothers that just... have to fight? For no reason.Select text to reveal spoiler

Liquid also goes on and talks about how "he wanted this to happen" so you can't help but wonder what was the point of any of this. Granted Big Boss does explain why Ocelot did what he did but as far as we're concerned Ocelot got taken over by Liquid and Liquid had his own plans that had nothing to do with Ocelot. No sign of Ocelot until Snake beats him.Select text to reveal spoiler

And even if that's the whole point of the battle you can't help but feel it's really forced. At the time of the battle you also have no idea what's really the purpose so the whole feeling of it being pointless just kills the mood. Only if you play it for the second time you kinda understand why it must be done, but storywise Snake has absolutely no idea.Select text to reveal spoiler

Granted I was once also blinded by the "epicness" of the battle but when I replayed the game lately it was just disappointing. And really, maybe the "true ending" is a little sudden and it's a lot like "well everything was already explained like this but here's the real story" but to be honest it actually ties together some loose ends. But the way the battle with Liquid was built upSelect text to reveal spoiler

    it really fails to deliver.

  • Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

So I've read how some people have a big problem with the Fulton Recovery system just existing. So much it actually lowers their hype for this game. Personally I can't understand why and I'm curious if other people have this problem? And why?

Lots of people seem to think it's bad when you don't have to "clean up" bodies anymore but... when was that ever really useful? I mean it's a nice feature and it still actually exists but I never really recall there being a single moment when you got something out of cleaning bodies from visible spots. No one really notices the bodies and only if it's dead body it actually causes some serious consequences.

Personally I think the whole thing is like complaining about technology that makes your life easier. That's just silly. Sure games should have some challenge but this is only a design decision doesn't make the game slow and tedious, like it would be if there was no Fulton.

And we all know Big Boss' story has to go to that point where you build your army and then espionage isn't just solo missions, it's more than that. And even though Portable Ops recruitment was absolutely horrible the idea was great and once we got Peace Walker it was basically perfected. Until of course The Phantom Pain was introduced and it was made even more better. This is nothing like the series making a change for worst, just the opposite. But I guess there are some MGS holists that want their new game the way it was in the last decade.

I've also read how some people have a problem with the cardboard box because it's "out of place", "unrealistic" and "childish". Not only that but people still want David Hayter back and MGR should've been a sneaking game instead of action game so I can't say I'm really surprised by anything MGS-fans say.
