since it's the same creators i'm wondering which game you'd prefer. Obviously fallout is newer, but i know there's some people who prefer fantasy over sci-fi settings.  I vote for fallout 3

Oblivion for me, It is hard to tell since Fallout 3 hasn't even been released yet...but I seriously doubt it will be a better game.. imo.

Well idk how Fallout will be, but i know Oblivion was great, so I cant really say, Ill try out Fallout when it comes out (that was alot of outs, lol)

im hopeing fallout will be better than oblivion, if not as long as it as good i dont mind.

Oblivion is my fav game of all time so i'd say bite the bullet & get both,Fallout looks as if it could be damned good as well.

Oblivion was fantastic. I can't imagine Fallout 3 could be any better.

LOL.. Oblivion was a great game CA36GTP...

Oblivion was great, but the Fallout type of setting is more of my thing.

I bought Oblivion for PC, it was the most painful experience of my life until I got a hold of community mods. I couldn't imagine buying a Bethesda game on a console.

(I also bought Star Trek Legacy and that was an even bigger pile of crap)

Obvlivion had no problems on the consoles. Well, mine didn't!

But that being said..the game was BORING as *expletive deleted*. Don't get me wrong, i don't mind a bit of freedom in a game. But i completed 90% of the games quests without ever doing a single story mission. By then i was so bored i didn't bother doing the story. So it was just hours and hours of mindless, pointless wondering and killing.

There are like 4 different settings...yawn! You go to a cave, a catacombs, a ruin and wow, you get to go to 50 others that are identical except for a few corridors in different places. All it was was a single player hack n slash game. Diablo 1 and 2 are far better games in that genre IMO.

Fallout 3 looks brilliant. I just hope it's not as 'open' as Oblivion was...I like the gore factor it has going for it. When the guy gets his head half sliced off from the sniper rifle in the trailer...nice!

I have it for both Computer and PS3... and I have to agree, Mods make the game.. !!

I hated

A) the enemy level-equalizing that made all the enemies generic depending on what level you were at

B) the leveling system that forced you to ignore primary skills in favor of secondary skills, or you'd get barely no improvement to your stats upon leveling

C) NPCs that randomly changed their voice actors in mid conversation

and so much more that I eliminated with PC mods

No is not out yet, game ships 10/28/2008 in the states.

 it comes out 31/10 here so it will more then likely be then or the 30th for uk
