Which is better?  They are both cool tower defence games that have totally different approaches.  One is hardcore the other is quite the opposite.

If you've never played it you can try Destop Tower defence here .

Hard choice, I love pixel junk monsters semi 3d effect but I also like the way desktop defense is set out and all cartoonlike

Good thread Cool . I find Desktop Tower Defence more addictive and more enjoyable to play overall. It is also much easier to get into than PM. And after playing it and then playing Pixeljunk Monsters, PM doesn't seem quite as good. Once you get, not even that far into the game, it gets way too difficult too quickly and I just wasn't really bothered going any further. I think it's my obsessive nature (when it comes to gaming) that I wouldn't move on from a level until I got through without losing a single soul. And those quick monsters with the shields around them were absolute bitches! Also after playing DTD I don't really like the limited gems and standing in a tower to upgrade it, and the way that you have to unlock other towers each level, once unlocked they should have stayed unlocked IMO. And the way that one bad choice (ie. upgrading a tower instead of waiting and unlocking one) can cost you a life. I think you have to keep track of too much in the game, too many decisions that could go wrong and cost you the game (or 1 life which is infinitely worse). It's weird all this complaining about it and I'm dying to play it now haha Smile .

However PM does have a number of things going for it. First of all is the fact that there is more of a motivation to stop the monsters (ie. protecting your... children?) instead of just not letting them to the other side. Also it has many many more scenarios and "puzzles" than the DTD which only has the one. Also the presentation and music is very very good.

Overall I'd have to say I prefer DTD. Though I think I'd prefer PM a lot more if it was on PSP. An addictive tower defence game on PSP? I'd buy it in a second!

You can play it on your PSP when the PSP is linked to the PS3

Yeah I know but I mean portable. Play anywhere. I'd love to be able to play it on the bus to college (not atm obviously but in September).

Playing PM at the moment. It is very good... and I think I've somehow got better at it in my absense... strange.
