if you use cheats will the trophies still work

Don't cheats affect your total percentage anyways? I'm sure they did for SA and one of the trophies is to get 100% so I don't know if your going for platinum but I'd stear clear of cheats and GTA4 is to damn easy anyways you don't need cheats.

GTA4 is easy anyhoo i think cheats will block the online trophies so im not going to chance it unless someone gets them all and just get rocket launchers to blast the police in game for fun..

yup, u get lower ranks and cant get 100%, like if u use about 50cheats ur rank becomes things like 'low-life, rat, cheater, snitch' etc its all quite funny haha

People are saying it is going to be just like the achievements, in that if you activate a cheat, it will tell you what trophies will be affected and unattainable.

cheats only affect certain trophies just like xbox achievements

ok, let me clarify, I bought gta when it came out, I have a file with 100% on it, im playing it to get the trophies, their are so many other games im interested in at the moment

Although people who cheat on GTA really annoy me (like my flatmate), I have to be honest and advise you that unfortunately cheating does NOT affect anything.

Trophies, 100% completion etc are ALL attainable even if you cheat.

I use the cheats becaz GTA gets boring.

There are only like four trophies that are affected, if you get those four, then you can cheat all you want.  Also, only a few of the cheats even effect trophies at all.  I will look up the link.

So there you have it, get Cleaned the Mean Streets, Walk Free, Finish Him, and One Man Army, and you can use any cheat you want, you sneaky cheaters.  I haven't cheated yet on my new game, (about 70% through the story), but knowing this, it's very tempting.

I was right about 100% completion though!

The only trophies that get locked are Cleaned the Mean Streets, Walk Free, Finish Him, and One Man Army.  Once these are complete, people can cheat all they want and no one will ever know.  Except God.

FInish Him? WHat cheat cancels that out? looks like im starting a new game then to get that one...

The refill health cheat.  This one is different from the weapons and health cheat, so if you've been using that you should be okay for Finish Him:
