Two days ago Sony announced PS3 Trophies (their answer to Xbox Live Achievements) would arrive on July 2nd (today!).

Some of the guys here at Playfire are big PS3 fans (I'm looking at you Seb and Benji ), so we thought "Shit, we need to get some sexy looking integration ASAP in time for launch".

So, we paused the code we were currently working on, and went into overdrive mode to build a cool PS3 Trophies system for your profile pages. After a lot of lightning quick coding by Aaron and Benji , we got that bad boy live on site, looking hotter than we expected (props to Abby , our Swedish design guru). Check it out:

The module will only appear on your profile if you have added at least 1 Trophy, and we'll be adding a way soon to delete it so that you Xbox, Wii and PC guys don't have to look at the empty box on your own profile.

To add Trophies, click on the "Add/edit trophies" link in the top right hand corner of the module:

After that, you can add Trophies for the games that have them. Right now our database of Trophies is limited, but we'll be adding new ones as soon as they're announced. If you guys know of any Trophies for games that support them, that we're missing, let us know in the comments here, or using the Feedback form at the top of the page.

After we built this, we thought, "Hey, wouldn't it be cool to have a sig widget so you can show off your Trophies around the web?". The answer is YES!, so we said "Alright, let's do it!". And here's what we came up with:

Get yours from your profile page now! Embed it in your signature on gaming forums, and on your MySpace page, blog, etc - wherever you hang out online.

Remember guys, this is a very early version of something that is gong to evolve rapidly into a kickass system in the future. We're also pressing Sony to give us direct access to the Trophies data, so we can automatically update your data like Xbox Live gamercards. For now, add them manually, and if we get something going with Sony we'll update with an automated verion.
